Desi Arnaz died at the age of 69 of cancer. He was from Santiago, Cuba and move to the United States with his family when he was young. He began his career as a musician and made his way to Broadway. He met his famous wife, Lucille Ball, on the movie set of Too Many Girls in 1940. The two went on to create a piece of television history with I Love Lucy, which ran from 1951 to 1957 and then for many years after in syndication.
Mr. Arnaz was honored with 2 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – one for motion pictures and one for television. He received his stars on February 8, 1960 – the birthday of the Hollywood Walk of Stars when construction finally began on the Walk.
