On CBS Sunday Morning this past Sunday, the whole program was dedicated to life and death. One particular story that stood out was on La Crosse, WI. In La Crosse, WI, “…96 percent of the people who passed away here had created advance directives. That’s the highest percentage of end-of-life planning in a nation where only about 30 percent of all adults have such a document.”[1] The report notes how helpful the advance directives are to family members and the medical providers during an emergency and in determining end of life care. If you have yet to complete an advanced directive, be inspired by La Crosse, WI and complete one now. Don’t forget we offer a free Minnesota Health Care Directive here on our site.
